Soccer, or football, as it's called in most places around the world, is growing in popularity across the U.S. A Washington Post poll in 2022 found 8% named soccer as their favorite sport, compared to 12% for basketball and 11% for baseball.

As the sport's grown in popularity, more fans are heading to their favorite establishments to catch matches with their family and friends. Detroit is home to many bars and restaurants showing soccer from across the world. Some Detroit and metro-area bars are even affiliated with clubs in the English Premier League, perhaps the most popular league in the world, but are open to all fans. If you're looking for a spot to watch a game, here’s a list of bars to check out.

Note: Some establishments may open early for earlier kickoff times. If a match is scheduled to start before normal hours, it's a smart move to call ahead and ensure the bar will be open.
