Where to watch Purdue in the Big Ten Championship

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Boilermaker fans have an opportunity to witness history if Purdue defeats Michigan at the Big Ten Championship game – kickoff set for 8 p.m. Eastern on FOX.

While tens of thousands will be at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis cheering on the Boilermakers, others just as faithful to Purdue will be rooting for the Boilermakers from their living rooms or their favorite bar.

For those staying in town to watch the game, you may be thinking, “Let’s go to Harry’s.”

You can try, but unless you can get in line early Saturday afternoon for the 8 p.m. kickoff, I don’t think you’ll find a seat in Harry’s.

The Journal & Courier reached out to restaurants and bars across the two cities to compile a list of places that will be showing the game to help you hunt or the perfect seat.

If there was one place to be to potentially witness history on Saturday night, it’d be at Harry’s Chocolate Shop. But any Boilermaker, new or old, knows that on a monumental day like this, getting a seat at Harry’s will be a waiting game.

Downtown Lafayette

For those thinking that they could beat the crowd by heading to downtown Lafayette and find a seat at one of the several restaurants showing the game, those seats will probably be taken up by families waiting for the annual Christmas Parade, which starts at 5:30 pm.

Food and drink specials

A number of the restaurants and bars that will be playing the Purdue v. Michigan game will also be holding a variety of food and beverage specials.

"The thing with Saturdays is that's our day we get to play with specials," Renee Garrett, general manager at The End Zone, said. "...I'm pretty sure they'll probably just put wings back on special...It's 10 traditional (wings) and fries or eight and 12 boneless and fries, which is a big deal for everybody.

"And we have a White Claw bucket...Coors Light sponsors college football...For every Purdue game now this year, you get a 22oz Coors Light in a Purdue glass, and it's $4."

Riehle's Neighborhood will have the specialty Boiler Burger available Saturday night for $7.95. This burger has two four-ounce charbroiled beef patties with sautéed mushrooms and swiss cheese served with French fries.

Additionally, Big League Sports will have their regular Saturday specials of $10 domestic pitchers and $20 buckets of Modelo, along with potential TBD specials for the game.
