Where Wisconsin’s class of 2022 stands after Monday’s commitments

The Wisconsin football program is off to a slow start to the 2022 recruiting cycle, even after finishing 2021 with a program-best effort.

Monday was a welcome sight for that slow start, with three players committing to the program and the class finally getting off the ground. Even with that influx of recruits, the Badgers still sit last in the Big Ten in 247Sports’ recruiting ranking.

The program now has five players committed to their 2022 group—QB Myles Burkett, TE J.T. Seagreaves, OT Barrett Nelson, ATH Cade Yacamelli and CB A’Khoury Lyde.

So, where does the class rank in the nation?

They shot up to No. 78 overall, and again still sit No. 14 in the Big Ten.

More commitments are bound to come in the near future, commitments that will move the Badgers back to their normal standing towards the top of the Big Ten.

But the 2021 recruiting cycle feels like a distant past at this point. And with Saeed Khalif gone to Michigan State, we may not see the program return to that level in some time.
