Where New York's American Rescue Plan Act funds are headed; Route 9A to be studied

Across New York state, you could start to see some renovations going around thanks to the American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA. In a special report by USA Today Network reporters Brian Sharp, David McKay Wilson, Emily Barnes and Chris McKenna, take a deep look at what counties around New York state are doing with $24 billion. Putnam County is repairing water damage at the county's golf course while Dutchess County is using it for the county-owned ballpark.

For those who drive Route 9A on the regular, the stretch between Mount Pleasant and Ossining is currently being studied. According to a report by The Journal News/lohud.com reporter Michael P. McKinney, the study will take a look at cost of guardrail installation and underpass renovations as well as estimates on the length of the project and how construction could impact traffic and the environment.

In case you missed it: lohud food reporter Jeanne Muchnick took a look at the closure of a few restaurants in our counties including Chef Antonio Restaurant, which had been serving Mamaroneck for 38 years.

Further north, the Montclair Bread Company has not only changed its name to Rabble Rise, but opened a second location in New Paltz focusing on doughnuts.

For those in need of a job, the Mid Hudson Valley has become a "job-seekers' market," according to a report by reporter Mike Randall, due in part to the tourism and hospitality industries.
