Saturday Night singer Whigfield has revealed she is in hospital to have a biopsy amid growing concerns for health.

The 52-year-old Danish singer – best known for her 1993 No 1 hit sing Saturday Night – has been undergoing various medical tests of late due to health problems and is awaiting a diagnosis.

Whigfield shared on Instagram: "Back at the hospital for a biopsy. Hopefully all this will be over soon. Have a great day everyone and Wish me luck."

Her post comes less than three weeks after she was forced to cancel an appearance at the Oktoberfest in Odense, Denmark to undergo an emergency MRI, pulling out on the day of the concert.

"Those who follow me know that i haven't really been feeling 100 per cent lately and been doing various check-ups.

"Unfortunately I've been booked for an emergency MRI scan tomorrow and because of logistics, it would be impossible to do both.
