WHIO-TV wins regional Edward R. Murrow Award

DAYTON – May 16, 2023 News Center 7 has been awarded the prestigious RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Award in the Hard News Category for the story entitled “Centerville Bike Attack Victim.” News Center 7 Anchor James Brown interviewed a teenage girl attacked while walking on a local bike path.

The emotional story depicts how the teen fought for survival and how the incident has changed her life in the days since.

WHIO won in Television Small Market, Region 7 which is comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. The Radio and Television Digital News Association presents Edward R. Murrow Awards for outstanding achievements in electronic journalism.
