White Bluff Christmas Parade joined by Burns, Charlotte, and Vanleer this weekend

The annual White Bluff Electric Christmas Parade is this weekend and will include Burns, Charlotte and Vanleer in the town’s nearly 50-year holiday tradition this year.

The parade is Saturday, Dec. 11 at 4:30 p.m. with the theme “A Hero’s Christmas: Angels Among Us” to honor frontline workers for their work the last two years.

All healthcare employees, first responders, and other frontline workers are invited to join the celebration and walk beside the “Hero” float near the front of the parade.

Parade Route

The parade will assemble at the William James Middle School, begin at the corner of Highway 70 and Trace Creek Road, and continue west on Highway 70 to Highway 47. The procession will then turn onto Highway 47, then right onto Old Charlotte Road and travel east, back to Highway 70 and return to the middle school.

Shine your light

The public is encouraged to honor frontline workers by shining a cell phone light or a small flashlight as they pass by on the parade route.

Grand marshals

The 2021 grand marshals of the parade, which is nearing a 50-year anniversary, are Richard and Patsy Bibb.

The Bibbs represent a fifth-generation family who were some of the earliest residents of White Bluff. The Bibb family has a long history of providing service to the community and has been instrumental in the establishment of the Dickson County Health Department in White Bluff, the Zollie H. Bibb Fire Hall, renovation of the White Bluff Community Center and funding of the Bibb-White Bluff Civic Center.

The Bibb Family Homeplace, established in 1880 overlooking the old Charlotte Pike is on the parade route.
