What’s that white circle flying above the Grand Strand?

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A stratospheric balloon aimed at expanding internet connectivity floated across Myrtle Beach before heading over the ocean on Monday.

No, it’s not another Chinese Spy Balloon. It’s a Raven Aerostar Balloon flying at about 56,000 feet.

Data from FlightAware shows it launched from Santa Fe, New Mexico on Saturday morning. Raven Aerostar acquired property and patents from Loon back in 2021.
