White City man, 26, killed in Klamath County crash

Dec. 21—A White City man has died in the aftermath of a side-impact crash in rural Klamath County that closed Highway 66 overnight earlier this week.

At 7:35 p.m. Monday, Elijah Nathanial Allen, 26, of White City, was pulling onto Highway 66 from the Clover Creek Road intersection in a 2006 Ford Escape SUV when he collided with a 2012 Ram 2500 pickup traveling westbound on the highway, according to a news release issued Wednesday by Oregon State Police.

The truck, driven by 68-year-old Michael Hormann of Klamath Falls, was traveling westbound when it struck the driver side of the compact SUV, according to police.

Allen was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the occupants of the truck were uninjured.

The crash drew first responders and resources to the scene that included OSP, the Klamath County Sheriff's Department, the Keno Fire District and Oregon Department of Transportation.

The roadway was closed for approximately seven hours Monday night and early Tuesday morning while crews investigated the crash.
