White Sox blast 5 home runs, Dallas Keuchel shuts down Twins in 10-3 victory

CHICAGO — Leury Garcia hit two of the Chicago White Sox’s five home runs, and Dallas Keuchel was sharp in his debut with his new team, shutting down the Minnesota Twins in a 10-3 victory Saturday at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Keuchel, one of the key offseason signings for the Sox, allowed two runs on three hits with one strikeout in 5 1/3 innings.

Batting left-handed, Garcia hit a solo home run in the fifth, then hit a three-run blast batting right-handed in the seventh. It’s the 11th time a Sox player has homered from both sides of the plate in the same game. Garcia went 3 for 4 with the four RBIs.

Edwin Encarnacion and Eloy Jimenez hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth, and James McCann added a solo homer in in the sixth and finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
