White Township to receive $200,000 grant for road improvements

WHITE TWP. ― A recent wave of infrastructure grants announced on Tuesday morning will provide funds for one local community to invest in its roads.

Sen. Elder Vogel Jr., R-47, New Sewickley Township, has announced that several grants have been awarded to communities in western Pennsylvania as a part of the state's Multimodal Transportation Fund. In Beaver County, the only community announced to receive one of these grants was White Township, which is set to receive $200,000 for roadway improvements throughout the community.

“Our roads act as a lifeline that connects our communities, our commonwealth, and our nation,” said Vogel. “These municipalities will greatly benefit from these grants as funding is an important part of the road repair and revitalization process to ensure people have safe pathways to use as they travel.”

According to Vogel's office, the Multimodal Transportation Fund is intended to provide financial assistance to communities hoping to improve pedestrian safety, transit revitalization and more. Several municipal projects will be funded in Butler County through this wave of funds, including safety and connectivity upgrades at the intersection of Brandt Drive and Route 19.
