Whitefish boys earn spot in Western A

Feb. 18—WHITEFISH — Whitefish senior Jack Sears scored 18 points, and the Bulldogs pulled away from the second quarter on to beat Libby 67-34 Saturday, earning a berth at next week's Western A Divisional.

Sears had four points in the second quarter and added eight more in the third, by which time the Bulldogs (6-11) led 46-24. Mason Kelch scored 12 points over the middle two quarters and added 14 for Whitefish.

The Bulldogs' next game is Thursday in Ronan, against defending State A champion Butte Central.

Ryan Beagle scored 13 points for the Loggers, who ended up 6-13. Trevor Collins and Tyler Anderson chipped in seven each.
