Whole Foods Is Recalling Over 70 Different Food Items Over Listeria Concerns
Recently, 25,000 pounds of sausage and 13,000 pounds of ground beef were recalled for possible foreign matter contamination. Now, Whole Foods is recalling over 70 products from their stores because of Listeria concerns.
The products in this recall include items from the salad bar, hot bar, and some frozen packaged meals. The wedge Greek salad from the salad bar, General Tso chicken from the hot bar, and frozen salmon dinner are some of the foods included, but you can find the full list of items affected by the recall here.
Recalled items were shipped between October 10, 2019 and November 4, 2019. The states that are potentially affected include Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, New Mexico, New Jersey. Texas, Connecticut, New York, Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
There have been no confirmed cases of illness linked to the products, but the concern is that some who may have consumed these foods have been affected by Listeria. Listeria is a bacteria that is more likely to affect pregnant women, elderly individuals, and people with otherwise weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fevers, muscle aches, diarrhea, and headaches.
If you aren't sure if your product is a part of this recall, throw it out or return it to your local Whole Foods store. If you do happen to have any of the products in your possession, you can get a full refund from Whole Foods with a receipt as proof of purchase.
