‘He’s my whole world’: Gastonia couple continues to recover after narrowly escaping house fire
A husband and wife are recovering from severe burns after their Gastonia home caught fire earlier in October.
Family members said Charles Clark used his body to protect Ella Clark from the flames.

On Wednesday, Channel 9′s Ken Lemon learned Ella left Atrium Health in University City for rehab. She is one stop closer to leaving the hospital, but she doesn’t want to go without her husband of almost four decades, who has to stay longer.
“He’s my whole world,” she said.
