Whoopi Goldberg Says 'The View' Is 'Calmer' Without Meghan McCain: 'Nobody Wants To Be That Tired Every Day'

People might be complaining about Alyssa Farah Griffin joining The View, but Whoopi Goldberg has said that things were actually chaotic when Meghan McCain was a part of the cast.

Goldberg told Page Six recently that “[i]t’s calmer because nobody wants to be that tired every day.”

"We've always had disagreements and stuff, but this one was a little bit different. I think [the show], it's better. I feel it's better, but I'm still tired!" she said.

Goldberg said that people, including her own daughter, would call her out on her facial reactions to things McCain would say on television. She said her daughter would tell her, “I can see your face!”

Clearly, no love is lost between Goldberg and McCain;

As McCain wrote in her book, Bad Republican, “The thing about Whoopi, though, is that she yields so much power in culture and television, and once she turns on you, it can create unfathomable tension at the table…I found her open disdain for me more and more difficult to manage as they ears wen ton and it became more frequent. Occasionally, if the show’s political discourse veered into territory that she found disagreeable, Whoopi would cut me off, sometimes harshly.”

McCain has also gotten on the bad side of another Black woman who was once a part of 'The View.'

McCain spoke with Andy Cohen in September about her time with Sherri Shepherd. McCain called Shepherd “nasty” and claimed that Shepherd only sought “publicity” and engaged in “toxic mean girl” culture.

"A really easy way to get publicity is to try and fight with me," McCain said. "I tend to fight more these days with people with Kari Lake--we're talking about people that are running for governor of Arizona."

“…The thing that makes me the most sad about it is [that] The View is really hard and I think anyone who’s done it knows how hard it is. There’s also this toxic mean girl reputation that’s not only with The View, but in daytime talk in general and I wish we would all just stop, there’s no need to be nasty.”
