Hundreds of dogs and their owners will compete at the Abilene Kennel Club's annual dog shows and obedience/rally trials this weekend at the Taylor County Expo Center, open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Confirmation events will be in the Coliseum, while obedience and rally events will be in the Display Building.

Outdoor bash

An outdoor concert featuring Flatland Cavalry, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and others will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at Mulligans, 1166 Ben Richey Drive.

Oorah run

In celebration of Armed Forces Day, Surviving Families of Fallen Warriors will conduct its Oorah Warrior 5K Run/Ruck at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, starting at Nelson Park.

Railhead Festival

BAIRD — The annual Railhead Festival in downtown Baird will kick off with a 5K starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, with other events including a car show, vendors and barbecue cook-off. Live music will begin 11 a.m., with headliner Jamie Richards at 9 p.m.

'Aladdin'

A showing of the 1992 animated Disney musical "Aladdin" will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Paramount Theatre, 352 Cypress St.

Adventure Cove reopens

Adventure Cove Aquatic Center, at 2742 S. Ninth St., will open for its first day of the season at 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 28.

Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for children four feet tall or taller, $4 for children under four feet tall and free for children 2 years old and younger. For information, call 325-676-6217.

AirFest canceled

Big Country AirFest, which was to be held Saturday at Abilene Regional Airport, has been been canceled due to Mesquite Heat Fire near View.

Zoolute

The annual Zoolute to Dyess will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Abilene Zoo, 2070 Zoo Lane. Entertainment, activities, food and more will be available.

'The Glass Menagerie'

A production of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Ryan Little Theatre at McMurry University.

'Three Tall Women'

A production of the drama "Three Tall Women" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Abilene Community Theatre, 809 Barrow St.
