Why was Will Ferrell at the Beech Grove Walmart? Later seen at the Pacers game

The guy at the center of attention in the parking lot of the Beech Grove Walmart on Sunday evening is kind of a big deal.

Actor Will Ferrell was filming a project there and lots of fans captured the moment.

Indy resident Leslee Maxey was among them – although she didn’t initially know who she was taking videos of with her smartphone.

Never know what you will see at BG Walmart. Will Ferrell just hanging out in the parking lot next to me 😳

She had been across the street getting some car work done when she saw a camera crew and a man in a camping chair in the lot.

“I didn’t know who it was, but I knew it was someone big,” she said.

She began recording as she saw the man getting into a car that drove away. Another person involved in the production, and wearing a dress, leggings and pumps, drove the vehicle.

Maxey was still recording when the vehicle pulled over to a gas station and returned.

When a Facebook friend identified the celeb as the “Elf” and ”Step Brothers” star, Maxey jotted over to the 4650 S. Emerson Ave. parking lot to get a photo with him.

“There were so many people taking cellphone pictures,” she said. “I was nervous to go and talk to him, but he was really nice and down to earth.”

“A lot of people didn't realize who it was.”

Ferrell, wearing a shirt proclaiming "In (Anthony) Fauci We Trust" and a Howler Bros. truckers hat, left the area at about 7:30 p.m., she said.

No word on what the Farrell project is, but the "Saturday Night Live" alum has several projects in the works.

And he appeared to be enjoying time in Indianapolis.

'50 Cent' also at the Pacers game. Here's why

On Monday night, Ferrell hyped the crowd and the Pacers-Sixers game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse where Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson showed up and greeted him.

This all begs: What's Fiddy doing here?

During every home game, you can find Jackson in the club. The rapper-actor-producer's Sire Spirits sponsors the bar at the stadium's ‘67 Club — formerly East Sideline Club, the speakeasy located behind the team benches.

Sire Spirits has a new bar on the south end of the Balcony Level serving both boozy and nonalcoholic slushie drinks. Sire's Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne are Pacers' official marketing partners.

Jackson also sponsors Suite 50, used by his G-Unity Foundation and the Pacers for charitable purposes, and for his business meetings and events. G-Unity Foundation is working with the Pacers to develop youth mentoring programs and a youth advisory council.
