Why George Clooney Wants To Retire In The UK

The quiet of the countryside has convinced George Clooney he wants to grow old in England.

Gravity star George, 54, bought an estate in Berkshire, South East England, 14 months ago and despite being born and raised in the States, the actors says it is somewhere he can imagine “growing old and grey”.

Asked if he is planning to make a permanent move from Los Angeles, George told OK! magazine: “Not in the near future. But in the long run that’s a house where I can imagine living with my wife and getting old and grey.”

He added: “When I speak about old and grey, I’m only referring to myself!”

The couple are reportedly desperate to start a family and believe now would be the perfect time as Amal is said to have started easing off her workload as a human rights lawyer.

Cindy Crawford – wife of one of George’s best pals Rande Gerber – has hinted the Oscar-winner is ripe for having kids with Amal.

She has said: “Rande always said he will when he meets the right girl. If you had asked me five years ago, George was like, ‘I am never having kids’.

“George has surprised me so who knows. I would never say never.”

But George claimed last year having kids wasn’t high on his list of priorities.

Speaking in May, he added: “I mean, I’ve thought about it, I suppose. But I haven’t really – it hasn’t been high on my list of… I’ve been asked it a lot lately because I’ve gotten married and I’m doing a movie with kids in it.”
