Jason Momoa has admitted that his career took a bit of a bump after his starring role as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones.

The actor has found a new lease of life in the DC universe in recent years as Aquaman, though admitted he initially struggled career-wise after his Thrones character was killed off in 2011.

"I didn't get much work after that," Momoa says on tomorrow' night's (14 December) Graham Norton Show.

"I mean, what do you do with that – he (his character) doesn't speak English, he's not funny and he just hurts people. I played that character well so it was a bit challenging afterwards. People would literally say, 'Wow, you speak English!'"

Over the weekend, Momoa reprised his role of Khal Drogo for a sketch on Saturday Night Live, though it seems we won't be seeing any more of him on the main show.

The actor recently told Digital Spy that he hasn't filmed any scenes for the final season of the HBO series, saying: "Yeah... he's not coming back. Nine years now, let him go."
