Why Meghan Markle & Prince Harry May Stay in a Different House than Prince William & Kate Middleton at Balmoral

As fun as family vacations are, everyone needs a little space now and then—even the Royal Fab Four.

According to Vanity Fair, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and baby Archie (3 months) will be staying in a separate house than Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (9 months), when they visit Queen Elizabeth at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, this month. (BTW, some sources have speculated that the royal Fab Four’s trip to Balmoral has already taken place.)

Unlike previous summers, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly set to join the 93-year-old queen and Prince Philip in the main house and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to stay in a private cottage called Tam-na-Ghar on the estate grounds.

Although some might see this as evidence of tensions between the royals, it should be noted that Prince William, 37, has used Tam-na-Ghar as a private getaway since Queen Elizabeth I (aka the Queen Mother) gifted it to him in the early 2000s.

It’s also important to note that both Prince Harry and Prince William have small children, so a little space between the families and their littles can be helpful in keeping everyone on their routine.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip arrived at Balmoral earlier this month after their trip was delayed to account for a meeting with new Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Prince Philip, Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Andrew are already there and even attended church with Queen Elizabeth last Sunday.

Now, we wait for the arrival of the Royal Fab Four and their families.
