Why Miley Cyrus Didn’t Walk the 2023 Grammys Red Carpet

Despite the fact that she wasn’t nominated this year and wasn’t announced as one of the official presenters, fans were hoping (and in some cases, v much me, praying) that Miley Cyrus would show up on the 2023 Grammy Awards red carpet. But nope, not so much. Which could be because she was busy, or it could have something to do with the fact that Plastic Hearts wasn’t nominated at the 2022 Grammys and she went ahead and tweeted this at the time:

However, Miley’s new single “Flowers” is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 right now, and performing it at the Grammys seems like a pretty golden opportunity for Miley—plus there are some unverified rumors that she might surprise everyone. Meaning, the lack of red carpet walk could have been very much on purpose.

And there’s a rumor floating around that a non-nominated artist is making a surprise appearance, with all signs pointing to Miley:

And on top of that, apparently the Grammys official account just started following Miley, so read into that:

Anyway! Here’s to hoping Miley makes a surprise appearance because I, for one, would love nothing more than for her to drop even more clues that “Flowers” is about Liam Hemsworth whilst live onstage in front of a buncha celebs.
