From Best Products

Samsung’s Galaxy Note10 duo of smartphones is a perfect nod to the brand’s most discerning, most loyal smartphone customers. Equipped with a 6.3-inch and a 6.8-inch display respectively, the Galaxy Note10 and the Galaxy Note10+ pack cutting-edge hardware features and specs into one of the most elegantly designed smartphones available.

The design of Note10 and the Note10+ is highlighted by its bezel-free display with a circular cutout for the selfie camera.

The water-resistant phones are available in a trio of colors: Aura Black, Aura White, and Aura Glow. The last one changes its appearance depending on the viewing angle and the lighting conditions.

I spent a week testing the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ and was nothing short of astounded by the design, versatility, performance, and sheer breadth of capabilities it has to offer. The latest Galaxy Note iteration, like many before it, is the new gold standard for big-screen smartphones.

Here’s why:

Its S Pen Stylus Doubles as a Magic Wand

The S Pen Stylus has been a Galaxy Note calling card since the original’s debut in 2011. Unsurprisingly, with the Note10 and the Note10+, the accessory is better than ever. It’s not only incredibly precise, but thanks to a built-in gyroscope, an accelerometer, and Bluetooth connectivity, it’s capable of performing a host of handy and cool tasks.

This tech transforms the S Pen into a remote control for the Note10 and the Note10+. Available for the first time in a Galaxy Note S Pen, the gyroscope and the accelerometer allow you to perform tasks with air gestures.

Dubbed Air Command by Samsung, the feature currently works with the device’s camera app and audio playback controls, among others. I used it to capture selfies as well as to control my Spotify. It had me feeling a bit like Harry Potter.

Air Command support for even more apps will arrive soon, so there’s plenty to look forward to!

Its Display is Incredible

Let me be frank: the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ has the best display in the business. The handset’s vast 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O panel received the highest grade to date from DisplayMate – the industry leading screen-testing authority.

Up close and personal, the screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ is simply marvelous. It's sharp, astonishingly vibrant, bright, and a perfect canvas for the S Pen stylus. With HDR10+ support, it will also make your favorite Netflix and Amazon Prime content look even better on the go.

Rather impressively, the screen has built-in tech to protect your eyes from harmful blue light. To sum things up, the display quality alone makes every Galaxy Note10+ interaction feel like a memorable occasion.

It Has the Best Cameras in the Business

The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ is the smartphone with the best front- and rear-facing cameras available today. The newcomer earned the top spot in the prestigious, highly contested DxOMark Mobile rankings.

The video-capturing capabilities of the device are also praiseworthy. In addition to being capable of recording in sharp 4K at a brisk 60 frames per second, the Galaxy Note10+ allows you to experiment with focus effects in live view — an impressive feat for a mobile device.

There’s also the option to zoom in the device’s microphones in any part of the frame. To top things off, the Note 10 and the Note10+ come with a superb video editing suite out of the box.

If you're even remotely interested in mobile photography, this is the smartphone to get!

It's Powerful Beyond Your Wildest Dreams

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 mobile chipset. The latter is currently the most capable option for Android smartphones, offering a perfect harmony between processing power and energy efficiency. Both phones also feature ultra fast internal storage.

With a desktop-computer-worthy 12 GB of RAM on board, the Note10+ is the duo’s superior multitasker – there’s literally nothing that can slow it down. And with 8 GB of RAM, the Note10 is no slouch either.

The Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ are highly capable mobile gaming rigs. They even have a dedicated Game Booster mode, designed to optimize their performance and power consumption for a top-notch gameplay experience.

It Has Excellent Battery Performance

I wasn’t surprised to discover that, thanks to a massive 4,300 mAh built-in battery, the Galaxy Note10+ effortlessly made it through a full day of heavy use. I believe that even the most discerning Android power users will be pleased by the device’s battery endurance.

The battery life of the Galaxy Note10 is also excellent. The device has a battery with less capacity than the Note10+, but also a smaller display panel with lower resolution. It will easily exceed your expectations.

Both Galaxy Note10 variants offer support for blisteringly-fast wired and wireless charging. The Galaxy Note10+ has a slight edge over its more compact sibling, thanks to support for 45W wired charging (via an optional charger), as well as 15-watt wireless charging standards. The former is particularly noteworthy, because it can get you a day's worth of use after only half an hour of charging.

Support for 15-watt wireless charging, on the other hand, is a first for a smartphone. It’s twice as fast as the one found in the Galaxy Note9, and on par with its speedy wired charging capabilities.

Like the Galaxy S10 lineup, the Note10 and the Note10+ are capable of reverse wireless charging. The Wireless PowerShare feature will allow you to help charge a Qi-capable smartphone in need, as well charge your own compatible gadgets.

Wrap-Up

Thanks to Samsung’s partnership with Microsoft, you can seamlessly connect your Note10 and Note10 to a Windows 10 PC via a USB cable and Samsung DeX. The software suite will allow you to access your phone, use it with your PC’s keyboard and mouse, and seamlessly move files and text between the connected devices.

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are the product family's first members to debut without a standard audio jack. Thankfully, Samsung has bundled them with high-quality AKG earbuds with a USB-C connector, so you can still enjoy your favorite content the day you pick one up.

Compared to the Note10, the Note10+ has a bigger and sharper screen, a larger battery, more memory, and expandable storage. It also has an additional camera sensor on the back for measuring depth. It makes the phone a better tool for capturing portraits.

The Note10 and the Note10+ have impeccable build quality. But considering the glass finish on their front and back, I suggest that you opt to use them with a protective case.

Samsung is asking $950 for an unlocked Galaxy Note10 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of non-expandable storage. That's a steep amount, but well worth it considering the design and the features the phone has to offer.

The Galaxy Note10+ is priced at $1,100 for a device with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of expandable storage (via a microSD card). A version with 512 GB of built-in storage is also available for $100 more and I believe it’s worth the extra cost. A 5G-capable Note10+ will also be available directly from wireless carriers that offer the service.
