On the 30th September, style icon Solange Knowles unexpectedly graced us with a new music album named ‘A Seat At The Table’. This included collaborations with rapper Lil Wayne, Kelly Rowland, The Dream and more. Due to the release of this album, it has permitted the public to recognise just how talented Knowles is from the production of the songs, the message behind the album to the music video visuals.

Knowles describes the album as a project on ‘identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing’. Touching on subjects and issues faced in society.

A Seat At The Table is a personal statement regarding black culture and race. Knowles shines light upon what she believes deserves recognition and identifies the changes that need to take place.

Acknowledged for her use of colours and eye for detail, Solange Knowles used a mixture of contemporary art in creating captivating visuals for the public. The singer continuously shared photographs on Instagram sporting different fashion pieces at such liberating and stunning locations failing to express the purpose behind those actions.

Later revealed, each visual shared on the social network was a snippet from her upcoming music videos which were directed by husband Alan Ferguson.

In these music videos, Solange Knowles proves that she is more than just Beyonce’s little sister but an artist who is currently taking the world by storm with her visuals and sounds.
