Why you should subscribe to The News Tribune’s new opinion newsletter

This is new. An email newsletter focused on the local opinions of the day.

So why is this happening? Well, since February 2022 Matt Driscoll been The News Tribune opinion editor. In addition to writing columns, he’s overseeing the paper’s opinion content, wrangling The News Tribune Editorial Board, culling letters to the editor and generally trying to make sure not to burn anything down. The objective is to produce engaging, thoughtful and thought-provoking local opinion journalism and reach as many South Sound readers as possible with it.

And, among other things, this Thursday afternoon newsletter is a chance to demonstrate to readers that The News Tribune’s opinion pages — in a world full of screaming hot takes and rampant belligerence — are worth your time and ultimately your subscription. In other words, what we have to offer is different.
