Why Tennessee basketball is wearing orange away uniforms vs. Alcorn State

Tennessee basketball is wearing its away uniforms for a home game for the first time in seven years Sunday.

The Vols wore orange uniforms against Alcorn State at Thompson-Boling Arena because the Braves only had light-colored uniforms available, a UT spokesperson said.

It is the sevent time Tennessee has worn orange at home, according to Tennessee's game notes. The Vols are 3-3 in such games, but lost their past two to Memphis in 2013 and South Carolina in 2015.

Alcorn State has not played a home this season. The Braves have played from Mississippi to California to Arizona so far. They will play in Illinois, Washington and Minnesota before having their first home game Jan. 2 against Jackson State.
