What to do in Wichita: Little Big Town concert, ICT Veg Fest, Brat Pack visitor

Wichita is offering a diverse lineup of entertainment options this weekend, including country and hip hop concerts, events for shoppers and veggie lovers, a comedy show and even a visit from a member of the Brat Pack.

Little Big Town in town

8 p.m. Friday, Hartman Arena, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive, Park City

Little Big Town, the foursome known for hits like “Better Man” and “Girl Crush,” will be at Hartman Arena in Park City for a concert on Friday. The group is bringing its “Friends of Mine” tour to the venue, and the opening acts will be Caitlyn Smith and Ashley Ray. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $42 to $160 and are available at www.hartmanarena.com

Art & Ale

11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nortons Brewing Company

Nortons Brewing Company is the site of this year’s Art & Ale Pop Up Market, which is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event will feature a long list of vendors selling things like jewelry, art, plants, food items and clothing, and local bands will be performing in the beer garden. The event also will include food and drink specials. Art & Ale is put on by Haute Handmade Pop Up Market. Admission is free.

Midwest Freaknik Jam

3 p.m. Saturday, Wave, 650 E. Second St.

The Midwest Freaknik Jam 23 is a concert with a full bill of artists, DJs and activities, and it starts at 3 p.m. Lil Ronny MothaF, Yung Nation, KStylis and Stunna Girl are the headliners, and DJs will be spinning all day, including DJ Cadence, DJ Bray, DJ Fluid and more. The event will also feature a car show, food and drink for sale and cash prizes and giveaways. General admission tickets are $40-$50, and VIP meet-and-greet tickets are $100. ICT Veg Fest

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sedgwick County Extension Center, 7001 W. 21st St.

ICT Veg Fest 2023, an annual event that brings together vendors who “share a common goal of living a planet-conscious lifestyle,” is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sedgwick County Extension Center. Visitors will find vegan food, artwork, performances and even animals up for adoption. The event is being put on by Nicole Mullen, the owner of Sunflour Cafe and Collective and CM Goodies, and Maranda Asche, owner of Soft Swerve Creamery specializing in vegan ice cream. Admission is free.

Eddie Griffin on stage

8 p.m. Saturday, Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg

Eddie Griffin, a popular comedian and actor who hails from Kansas City, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Cotillion. In addition to a successful stand-up career that resulted in a Showtime comedy special called “Eddie Griffin, Undeniable,” Griffin also played a pastor in the Oscar-winning film “A Star is Born” and has appeared in films like “The Last Boy Scout,” and “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.” Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets are $39 and $49 at thecotillion.com

Andrew McCarthy in Wichita

6 p.m. Sunday, Crown Uptown Theatre, 3207 E. Douglas

Andrew McCarthy, a member of the “Brat Pack” back in the 1980s and the star of films like “Pretty in Pink” and “Mannequin,” will be in Wichita on Sunday to talk about his newest book, “Walking with Sam: A Father, a Son.” McCarthy, who also is an accomplished travel writer, wrote the book about the experience he had walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain with his son, Sam. McCarthy will appear with fellow travel writer Rolf Potts, the author of “The Vagabond’s Way: 366 Meditations on Wanderlust, Discover and the Art of Travel.” The event will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Crown Uptown Theatre.
