Wichita State basketball 2023-24 season schedule finalized: AAC releases conference slate

The American Athletic Conference released its men’s and women’s basketball schedules Friday morning, cementing the dates on the 2023-24 season schedule for Wichita State.

The WSU men’s basketball team will open up conference play at home Thursday, Jan. 4 when the Shockers play new member North Texas at Koch Arena.

The key home dates in the Roundhouse include Sunday, Jan. 14, when Memphis is slated to come to Wichita, as well as Sunday, Feb. 11 when the Shockers play host to Florida Atlantic, fresh off a Final Four run. Both AAC foes could be nationally ranked when they play in Wichita.

As part of the 18-game conference schedule, WSU will host nine games at Koch Arena with five of those games coming on the weekend. Other home dates in the Roundhouse include against East Carolina (Wednesday, Jan. 24), SMU (Sunday, Jan. 28), Texas San-Antonio (Wednesday, Feb. 7), Tulsa (Wednesday, Feb. 21), Temple (Sunday, Feb. 25) and Rice (Saturday, March 2).

Road dates for the Shockers include trips to Temple (Sunday, Jan. 7), Florida Atlantic (Thursday, Jan. 18), South Florida (Sunday, Jan. 21), Tulsa (Wednesday, Jan. 31), Memphis (Saturday, Feb. 3), East Carolina (Thursday, Feb. 15), Charlotte (Sunday, Feb. 18), UAB (Wednesday, Feb. 28) and Tulane (Friday, March 8).

The WSU women’s team also plays an 18-game league schedule, which begins on Saturday, Dec. 30 with a game against Tulane at Koch Arena. The Shockers also play at home on Jan. 9 (Temple), Jan. 17 (Memphis), Jan. 25 (UAB), Jan. 27 (FAU), Feb. 4 (ECU), Feb. 17 (Tulsa), Feb. 28 (SMU) and March 2 (UTSA).
