Wichita Wind Surge names new general manager

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita Wind Surge has a new general manager.

Matt Hamilton, a McKinney, Texas, native, was named to the position on Monday, according to the team.

Hamilton has worked in Minor League Baseball for seven years. He has had past positions with the Amarillo Sod Poodles and was the assistant general manager with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. According to the Wind Surge, the RailRiders set records in both group and overall ticket sales under his guidance.

“He is poised to help lead the organization into a new era of success and continue the tradition of Wind Surge baseball,” Jay Miller, Wichita Wind Surge president, said.

“It’s my mission to continue the tradition of Wind Surge baseball being the best form of affordable family-friendly entertainment in the area. I will work tirelessly to continue to make Riverfront Stadium a community gathering place for everyone in Wichita and the surrounding areas to feel welcome and call their own,” Hamilton said.
