The Land of Oz in another time; boy meets girl; Greek mythology with modern twist; working women who have had it with their boss; a pretty woman; an actor driven to make a desperate move; and the tempting sound of Motown all are on tap for the 2022-2023 season of the Kravis on Broadway series.

The Kravis Center will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a lineup that kicks off with "9 to 5 The Musical" on Nov. 15, followed by "Disney's Aladdin" on Dec. 14, "Hadestown" on Jan. 3, "Tootsie" on Feb. 7, "Pretty Woman: The Musical" on March 7, "Wicked" on March 29 and wraps up with "Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations" on April 26.

"Wicked" originally was planned for the 2021-2022 season but when cancellations started because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved to the coming season, Kravis spokeswoman Linda Birdsey said.

"Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations" will be on stage at the Kravis Center in April 2023. The National Touring Company features Harrell Holmes Jr., Elijah Ahmad Lewis, Jalen Harris, Marcus Paul James, and James T. Lane.

The show "9 to 5 The Musical" (Nov. 15-20) is based on the 1980 movie, "9 To 5," and features a book by the movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick and an Oscar-, Grammy- and Tony-nominated score by Dolly Parton. The production tells the story of three co-workers pushed to the limit by their sexist and egotistical boss.

"Disney's Aladdin" (Dec. 14-23) Tells the story of how one lamp and three wishes open infinite possibilities when Princess Jasmine is pressured by her father to find a royal groom. Jasmine sneaks out of the palace in disguise and soon forms an instant connection with Aladdin, a street urchin and reformed thief. Music is by eight-time Oscar winner Allan Menkin.

"Pretty Woman: The Musical: features Adam Pascal and Olivia Valli. The show will open at the Kravis on March 7.

"Hadestown" (Jan. 3-8) is an intertwining two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone that takes the audience on a journey to the Underworld and back. The Broadway production won eight 2019 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

"Tootsie" (Feb. 7-12) tells the story of Michael Dorsey, a talented but difficult actor who struggles to find work until an act of desperation lands him the role of a lifetime. It features a Tony-winning book by Robert Horn and score by 2018 Tony-winner David Yazbek.

Based on "Pretty Woman," one of Hollywood’s most popular romantic stories, "Pretty Woman: The Musical" (March 7-12) features an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance (“Summer of ’69”, “Heaven”), and a book by the movie’s director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton.

"Wicked" (March 29-April 9) looks at what happened in the Land of Oz long before Dorothy arrives. Elphaba, a young woman, born with emerald-green skin — smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent — meets a bubbly Glinda, who is exceptionally popular, and their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships. It all changes when the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

It’s a story of brotherhood, family, loyalty, and betrayal during a decade of civil unrest in America set to the beat of the group’s treasured hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready,” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone."

"As we enter our 30th season this fall, the Kravis Center continues to be at the heart of the cultural community in Palm Beach County – providing an exceptional schedule of great live performances, community collaborations, education initiatives and more," Kravis Center CEO Diane Quinn said in a statement.

"An Officer and a Gentleman," which Birdsey said is a South Florida premiere event, runs May 3-8, and "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical" runs May 24-26. The latter was rescheduled from January following a surge in COVID cases spurred by the omnicron variant.
