Wickliffe Public Library to host talk on 'The Lake Branch of the B&O Railroad'

Feb. 5—Wickliffe Public Library will be hosting the program "The Lake Branch of the B&O Railroad" at 7 p.m. Feb. 21.

The history of what became known as the B&O Lake Branch began as early as 1835 and spanned approximately 185 years. Over that timeline, a dozen different railroad company names blanketed the road between Painesville and Youngstown, according to a news release.

From the shores of Lake Erie to the Mahoning Valley and beyond, expert Dan Rager chronicles the steps and stops along the branch. The journey from Painesville to Youngstown was approximately 64.4 miles.

Call 440-944-6010 to register for this program. The library is located at 1713 Lincoln Road.
