Widow suing Textron Aviation Inc. for fatal 2022 plane crash that claimed four lives, including Wichita man

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Widow Danielle Martin is suing the companies, including Cessna parent company Textron Aviation Inc., that designed, manufactured, and maintained the Cessna 208B EX Caravan that was involved in the 2022 fatal crash in Washington. It claimed the life of her partner, 33-year-old Nathan Precup, of Seattle, Washington, who was an aerospace engineer.

The crash also claimed the lives of 49-year-old Nate Lachendro of Gig Harbor, Wash., 52-year-old Scott Brenneman of Roy, Wash., and 67-year-old David Newton of Wichita, Kan. Two of them were pilots. The third was the test director.

The four were test-flying the airplane when the right wing fell off mid-flight, causing it to fatally plunge into a field in Snohomish, Washington.

Other companies named in the suit include maintenance company Ace Aviation, Inc., aircraft components maker Mistequay Group, Ltd., and aerodynamics equipment design firm Raisbeck Engineering, Inc.

Martin’s attorneys say her wrongful death and product defect suit “seeks to hold Cessna parent company Textron Aviation Inc., of Wichita, Kansas, accountable for the flaws that led to the fatalities.”
