Oct. 13—MINONG — The Minong Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and open house Oct. 12 for Wild Rivers Acupuncture.

During the event, owners Rick Scott and Tay Ramsey offered tours of the facility, located at 440 Business Highway 53 in the Vacationland building next to Coldwell Banker.

Scott grew up in Wascott and attended Northwood High School before moving on to earn degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine. After completing his schooling in 2019, he set his sights on returning to northern Wisconsin to make acupuncture available in the area.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to return to my childhood home and offer an option for effective, non-pharmacological pain management to my community," Scott said.

In addition to acupuncture, the business offers moxibustion, herbal medicine, tuina, cupping, gug sha and nutritional supplements.
