A wildfire burning in Santa Barbara County, California, prompted local evacuations and road closures on October 11.

Video by Sally Holt, taken from El Capitán State Beach, shows smoke wafting across the coastline.

According to fire authorities, the blaze was sparked at 2:30 pm local time and quickly grew to 2,000 acres. Authorities said firefighting aircraft were unable to take off due to the wind.

At least 100 structures were threatened as of Monday afternoon, prompting evacuation orders for residents in the Refugio Canyon and El Capitan State Park.
