Wildfires in Oregon Turn Sky Orange and Hazy

Skies turned orange as officials issued a level 3 evacuation order for parts of Oregon due to the growing Cedar Creek Fire, on Friday, September 9.

As of Friday morning, the Cedar Creek fire was burning at 33,099 acres and was 12% contained, according to officials.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office warned residents to evacuate immediately.

Footage captured by Twitter user @MirandaEnTuiter shows yellow and orange smoky skies in Eugene on Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service warned residents in the affected areas of hazier skies due to winds carrying smoke from the fire.
