Wilkes-Barre City PD investigate reported gunfire

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, officers are investigating reported gunfire.

Police say on Wednesday, April 24 around 8:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Poplar Street for a reported vehicle vehicle stuck by gunfire.

According to investigators, the victim called police Thursday morning stating, that sometime overnight the headlight of her vehicle sustained damage from being struck by a bullet.

Hazleton City Police look for wanted man

Wilkes-Barre Police say officers on the scene located a bullet fragment inside the headlight.

According to law enforcement, this is the third report of gunfire in Wilkes-Barre since Tuesday, April 23.
