William Byron won the North/South Super Late Model Challenge Saturday night at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.

The win came three days after Byron signed a three-year extension with Hendrick Motorsports.

Byron, 24, turned his attention after the race Saturday to the NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400, which is Sunday in Darlington, North Carolina.

"It's awesome to win out here; it's kind of a place I've struggled with in the past," Byron told Darian Gilliam. "To come here and be able to get a win is awesome. The car was obviously really good. We struggled on the restart there, but we were able to overcome that after that. So it was a lot of fun."

Byron said the victory made him look forward even more to Sunday's race because of how well his car ran.
