Willie Nelson is sending 'Letters to America' in his new book out in June

He might be waiting to get back on the road again, but Willie Nelson hasn't been twiddling his thumbs this past year.

The 87-year-old country legend a recently vaccinated one, at that has revealed plans for his next book.

"Willie Nelson's Letters to America" will be released on June 29. The book, written with Turk Pipkin, is billed as "a collection of intimate letters reminding readers of the endless promise and continuous obligations of all Americans...to stand with unity, resolve, and faith."

On top of sharing his thoughts on his country, heroes and future generations, Nelson will also look back on some of his beloved lyrics in the book.

On Friday, Nelson also released his 71st studio album. "That's Life" is his second collection of songs famously performed by his late friend, Frank Sinatra.

The legendary Texas musician and cultural icon was also tapped to be this year's South by Southwest keynote speaker.

Nelson will deliver the keynote for this year’s edition of the Austin's marquee festival and conference, event organizers revealed in January, as SXSW navigates a pandemic-era shift to an online format. In the same announcement, SXSW also revealed dozens of big-name featured speakers, ranging from Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey to entrepreneur Richard Branson to music-and-film stars LL Cool J and Queen Latifah.
