Willie Nelson's Outlaw Music Festival tour is headed to FirstBank Amphitheater

Willie Nelson's rolling revue of time-tested storytellers and country music outsiders sets sights on Tennessee this fall.

Nelson's "Outlaw Music Festival" tour stops Sept. 10 at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, roughly 30 miles south of Nashville. Nelson and his family band headlines the night, with Grateful Dead's Bobby Weir and his band Wolf Bros. playing main support. Nelson's son Michah Nelson — known by his stage name Particle Kid — opens the show. More acts plan to be announced in the coming weeks, per a news release.

Tickets to see Nelson and company go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via livenation.com.

Nelson launched his touring outlaw festival in 2016; the shows typically bill a rotating cast of sought-after artists in country, Americana, folk and roots-rock music. Tour alumni include Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Church, Sturgill Simpson, Sheryl Crow, Chris Stapleton and ZZ Top, among others. The upcoming September stop marks the first in Middle Tennessee for Nelson's Outlaw Music Festival.

Nelson and his family band last played FirstBank Amphitheater in June 2022, a show the singer rescheduled after contracting COVID-19. The fall run of Outlaw Festival dates takes Nelson and company to North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, New York and elsewhere.

Nelson — a Country Music Hall of Famer known for timeless country tunes such as "On The Road Again" and "Blues Eyes Cryin' In The Rain" — celebrates his 90th birthday this Saturday.
