Willimantic man dies in motor vehicle collision on Windham Road

Aug. 17—WINDHAM — A Willimantic man died in a motor vehicle collision on Windham Road in the Town of Windham on Saturday night, according to Connecticut State Police.

At approximately 11: 12 p. m., Ortiz Novoa, 27, of Willimantic was driving his car south on Windham Road along with his passenger, Yamaris Vazques, 24, of Willimantic.

Jose Nales- Feliciano, 27, of Willimantic was driving his car north on Windham Road.

State Police said that Nales- Feliciano's car crossed the double yellow lane divider into the southbound travel lane on Windham Road and struck Novoa's vehicle headon.

Nales-Feliciano was transported to Windham Hospital where he died from his injuries, according to State Police.

State Police said that Vazques was also transported to Windham Hospital where she was treated for a suspected minor injury.

According to State Police, Novoa sustained a suspected minor injury from the collision, however he was not transported to a hospital.

Both cars involved in the accident sustained damage to the front of the vehicles. State Police said that both vehicles were towed from the scene.

This case is under investigation, according to State Police.
