Willimantic man killed, Moosup man injured in Brooklyn crash

A 38-year-old driver was killed Tuesday evening after colliding with a Moosup man's truck in Brooklyn, state police said.

Police said Carlos Garcia-Giron, of Roanoak Avenue in Willimantic, was driving east at 6:56 p.m. on Route 6/Hartford Road in Brooklyn when his 2007 Acura TSX drifted into the westbound lane and struck a 2005 Ford F550 Super Duty vehicle operated by 25-year-old Ryan Reynolds of Moosup.

Police said Garcia-Giron was pronounced dead at the crash scene and Reynolds was transported to the Backus Plainfield Emergency Care Center for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
