Willmar woman injured in crash with semi near Lake Lillian, Minnesota

Jan. 28—LAKE LILLIAN TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Willmar woman was taken by ambulance to CentraCare — Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after the vehicle she was driving crashed with a semi shortly after 3 p.m. Friday on a snow- and ice-covered road, according to a report by the Minnesota State Patrol.

Dominga Ortiz Cortez, 19, was traveling westbound on Minnesota Highway 7 near mile post 118 east of Lake Lillian in East Lake Lillian Township when the Chevrolet Equinox she was driving collided with an eastbound Volvo semitractor driven by Craig Allen Zacher, 56, of Langdon, North Dakota.

The semi went into the ditch as a result of the crash. Zacher was not injured in the crash. Cortez's injuries were described in the report as non-life-threatening.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not involved, according to the report.

Also responding to the crash were the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office and Lake Lillian Fire and Ambulance.
