Willoughby: Fine Arts Association announces free concert, fundraising event

Sep. 21—The Fine Arts Association is hosting a free community event celebrating the legacy of its founders, the late Jim and Louise Savage.

The "Savage Musical Evening" will begin at 7 p.m., Sept. 24, with a concert featuring FAA faculty, achievement scholarship students and friends of the institution, many of whom were tutored by the Savages.

A fundraising reception, sponsored by the Women's Committee of The Fine Arts Association, will take place immediately following the concert.

The fundraising event, with a goal of $10,000, will spotlight stories shared by FAA students, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Guests will be treated to light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available.

According to officials, the evening's purpose is to show appreciation for FAA's patrons, sponsors, and donors and to raise critical operational funding.

All proceeds will go to the Jim and Louise Savage Fund which was established by the Savage family to support general operations.

"In 1957, Jim and Louise made room for musicians and artists to learn and share in their family home on River Street in Willoughby," said Yvonne Delgado Thomas, FAA's director of development. "Now 65 years later, thanks to their passion and vision, Fine Arts stands firmly as a pre-eminent, all-encompassing community arts center in Northeast Ohio."

The event is free, but registration is required by calling 440-951-7500.
