Will's Wild West Kids Camp: Students watched magic show, played games

Jun. 22—Young voices screaming "HOCUS POCUS" could be heard down the halls of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum as Cowboy Magician Doug Anderson shared a magic trick.

Over 100 kids participated in the sixth annual Will's Wild West Kid Camp over the past three days. Attendees participated in games, learned from nature programs, learned knot tying skills, made crafts and more.

There was a contest for best dressed cowboy and best dressed cowgirl. In the best dressed cowboy contest, Henry Melton took third place, Spur Peverley took second place and Silas Prather took first place. In the best dressed cowgirl contest, Presley Spurgeon took third place, Gloria O'Donnell took second place and Cameron Spurgeon took first place.

Also present was the Wooloroc Museum, Boy Scout Troop 167, Volunteers for Youth, and the Chuck Wagon.

The next event hosted by the Will Rogers Memorial Museum is Overnight at the Chuck Wagon on July 8-9. The event is for kids ages 5-12 and at least one adult per family.
