'Willy-Willy' Swirls on Burning Crop Field in Western Australia

A massive dust twister was reported in a crop field on March 17 while a farmer was burning stubble in South Burracoppin in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region.

Caleb Levy filmed a video showing a ‘willy-willy’ swirling at a high speed, bringing up dust, sticks and debris from the ground.

Levy told Storyful that he was burning the stubble ahead of planting new crops when the twister appeared for about ten minutes. Credit: Caleb Levy via Storyful
