What community and professional groups are you affiliated with? Major, United States Marine Corps Reserve. Currently serve as an inspector with the Force Readiness Activation Assessment Program based in New Orleans.

What are your guiding principles? I often ask myself, what will I have accomplished at the end of my life? What positive change will I have made? I want that change to be impactful ... meaningful.

How do you volunteer your time in the community? I serve on two city boards: Downtown Parking Advisory Committee and the Board of Adjustment.

Who has helped you achieve success in your life and career? My wife Katie. Who, by the way, is much more accomplished than I am. She is a cardiology nurse practitioner with Wilmington Health with an incredibly loyal following of patients. We have been together almost 20 years ... and we continuously push each other to be better. Essential Personnel wouldn't exist without her. She believed in me, supported the family financially and has dealt with me being on the road to make our company a success.

What goal would you like to accomplish before turning 40? A public safety agency has used the personnel data in Essential Personnel's software for a promotional process ... instead of a written test or assessment center.

What's your most prized possession? My health
