Wilmington's Chancery Market to open outdoor patio this spring

Downtown Wilmington's second food hall, Chancery Market, plans to open an outdoor dining space in May.

The 10,000-square-foot garden plaza at 1313 N Market St. will have seating for 150 people, an indoor/outdoor bar, a fireplace and a large-screen TV.

The space, with green lawns and new landscaping, has been designed by the Delaware Center for Horticulture.

What is Chancery Market?

Chancery Market, which opened on Dec. 1, is located on the bottom floor of what had been known as the Hercules Building.

The 12,000-square-foot culinary collective in a 12-story building is in Wilmington's business district off North Market Street near the banks of the Brandywine.

It's a few blocks away from DECO, a 13,000-square-foot food hall with eight food stalls at 111 W. 10th St., which has been operating since April 2019.

What are the Chancery Market vendors?

Chancery Market celebrates global cuisine and its vendors include stalls operated by Toscana and Oath '84 restaurants; Fuku, a fried chicken operation from famed chef David Chang; Indian street food from Katiroll Wala; vegan dishes from Rooted AF; drinks from the Juice Joint 2.0; bagels, coffee and crepes from Espresso; and sandwiches from Market Street Burger & Dog.

What else does Chancery Market offer?

Events at the food hall include Quizzo with Lew, a trivia night held on Wednesdays and Yoga on Sundays.

Onsite garage parking is available, including three-hour complimentary parking beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday.
