Cannabis, a lakeside recreation venue and health clinics are connected to new business plans for Mt. Juliet.

Cannabis Catering Lab

The owner of a Mt. Juliet hemp and CBD business has launched a catering business that offers more than 20 cannabinoid meal options.

Cannabis Catering Lab offers hemp and CBD-infused foods for a variety of catered events.

Heath Scott, the owner of 7 Point Farm and Apothecary on Lebanon Road, started Cannabis Catering Lab, which will expand to the Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Murfreesboro and Memphis areas. Cannabis Catering Lab works events for ages 21-up.

Hemp-derived meals can include cannabinoid options with or without THC, the chemical that causes a high.  All THC offerings are within the legal amount allowed, Scott said.

Food plates and utensils at catering events are extensively labeled for precautionary measures, Scott said. A signed consent form by those who eat is also required.

Cannabis Catering Lab has a staff of about 10, including four chefs.

Kane Cove Resort

A plan to develop a seasonal recreational venue along Old Hickory Lake in Wilson County has been submitted in Mt. Juliet.

Kane Cove Resort is the working name of the concept plan on just under 20 acres off Nonaville Road, north of Saundersville Road.

The site is within in Mt. Juliet’s growth boundary.

The applicant is interested in annexing the property into the city limits, according to Mt. Juliet Commissioner Ray Justice.

A land use plan amendment and zoning clarification are needed if the plan moves forward with annexation into Mt. Juliet.

The concept plan was submitted to the Mt. Juliet planning commission as a potential prelude ahead of further approval requests if the proposal moves forward.

Tentative uses with the concept plan include:

  • 20 RV parking spaces

  • Cottages and cabins

  • Corporate retreat center

  • Pool

  • Boat dock

A retail store and wedding venue are also possibilities.

"It's an opportunity to use an underutilized asset to bring in tourists," Justice said.

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care

Ascension Saint Thomas will open an urgent care center in an existing building on North Mt. Juliet Road near Sunset Drive.

The building owned by Lineberry Developments will be renovated, according to Amy Thomas of Ascension Saint Thomas.

Opening is targeted for middle or late October.

Fast Pace Health

A site plan has been submitted to build a new one-story, 7,000-square-foot medical clinic on the south side of Lebanon Road.

The location for Fast Pace Health is about 850 feet east of the intersection with North Mt. Juliet Road.

Lebanon outlet mall sells for $9.2 million

Lebanon Outlets, a 227,958 outlet mall in Lebanon, has been sold for $9.2 million to Land Solutions, according to Colliers International which brokered the deal.

Land Solutions owner Kevin Estes announced earlier this year the company had a contract on Lebanon Outlets with a mixed-use redevelopment plan to include shopping, dining, office and residential.

Lebanon Outlets is on about 47 acres  just off Interstate 40 at Highway 231.

The previous owners who bought the mall in 2019 were tied to Namdar Realty Group in Great Neck, New York.

East Nashville Beer Works

Lebanon officials have announced that East Nashville Beer Works is taking steps to open the brewery’s second location on State Route 109 and Callis Road.

East of Nashville Beer Works also offers a food menu centered on made-to-order pizza, salads, and appetizers with an outdoor beer garden, according to an announcement on the plan.

East of Nashville Beer Works has submitted a proposal to the Lebanon Planning Commission this week and will work on the site plan in the upcoming months, according to the Lebanon Mayor's Office.

New stores named for old Kmart redevelopment

New tenants have been announced for a retail center on West Main Street in Lebanon where a Kmart closed in late 2019.

New tenants at the Western Plaza Shopping Center will include Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Five Below and Buff City Soap, according to an announcement by the city.

More than 100 jobs are anticipated.

Drinkard Development out of Alabama are the owners.

Redevelopment work is underway with hopes to finish by the end of the year.
