Durant was electric during a 90-88 win against Pine Forest, scoring 40 points on 10-for-18 shooting from the field and a perfect 17-for-17 from the free-throw line.

Boys Soccer: Miller Thorsen, Pensacola Catholic - The senior forward had five goals in two Crusaders victories. Thorsen had a pair of goals during a 4-1 victory at Pace. He followed that up with a hat trick in a 4-0 win against Walton.

Football Defense: LaMartaz Odoms, Pine Forest - The junior outside linebacker helped the Eagles qualify for their first state championship game since 2006 with a game-sealing interception. The pick came in overtime of the team’s 20-13 victory over Orlando Jones in a Class 6A state semifinal.

Football Offense: T.J. Wilson, Pine Forest - Highlighted by a jaw-dropping 35-yard scoring rush, the junior quarterback had 17 carries for 105 yards. Wilson only completed three of his eight passes for 19 yards, but one of his completions went for a touchdown.

Football Special Teams: Donielle Hayes, Pine Forest - The Eagles’ state championship berth wouldn’t be possible without the junior wide receiver. He also had a 13-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.

Girls Basketball: Micheala Vollmer, Navarre - The senior forward averaged 12.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.0 steals during three Raiders wins. Girls Soccer: Emily Doyle, Pensacola Catholic - The senior defender tallied five goals and five assists during an unbeaten three-match stretch for the Crusaders. Doyle collected her 100th career point with two scores and two helpers in Catholic’s win over Walton.
