Winds are expected to increase across Ohio Friday, with gusts increasing into Saturday, with a sharp drop in temperatures Saturday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for northern Ohio through 6 p.m. Saturday, and predicts two waves of storms will move through the area, the first after midnight early Saturday morning, and the second Saturday afternoon.

Showers, are expected Friday, mainly before 4 p.m. with a high near 55 and south wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Showers and thunderstorms before 5 a.m. are likely overnight into Saturday, then a chance of showers with a low around 51. Winds are forecast to increase slightly, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely during the day Saturday, with showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Temperature should rise to near 59 by 11 a.m., then fall to around 44 during the remainder of the day.

Southwest winds should continue during the day, increasing from 16 to 21 mph to 23 to 28 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80% with between a tenth and quarter of an inch of precipitation, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

There is a chance of rain showers, Saturday night, mixing with snow after 11 p.m., then gradually ending with a low around 28. Winds should continue at 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday is expected to be sunny, with a high around 49.
