Windham beats New Fairfield to advance in boys’ basketball Division IV
The Windham High School varsity boys’ basketball team beat New Fairfield in round one of the Division IV state tourney on March 7, advancing to the second round of the competition.
Windham entered the game with a 15-5 record and a number 9 -seed. New Fairfield entered the game at number 24 with a record of 9-11.
The 70-45 win advanced Windham to a round two game against No. 8 Abbott Tech. A 78-58 win against Abbot Tech, on March 9, brought Windham to a quarterfinal round game against No. 1 Cromwell, scheduled for March 13 in Cromwell.
The Windham varsity boys’ basketball team is coached by Paul Martineau, assisted by Jack Jenkins.
The seniors on this year’s team are Jack Jenkins, Montique Custodio, Victor Meija, Travis Mangual Jr., Isaiah Alexis Mangual, and Zachary Robinson-Smay.
